Girls Day Out

When my good friend was in town, I took Julia with us for pedicures. Julia's nails were done first, and I looked over to see her, quite comfortable in her surroundings, waiting for her nails to dry.

It was a special treat for Julia (and for me!), but based on this photo, you'd think this was a routine occurrence for Julia.

AnnaBee & Me

Today, I enjoyed some one-on-one time with Annabelle in the beautiful, Fall weather. (Julia was at her last gymnastics class of the season.)

First Day of School

Julia started PreK this year, and Annabelle started Parents Morning Out at the same school. Julia was raring to go back to school, and in general, loves school, her classmates, and her teachers.

Annabelle was happy on the first day I dropped her off. She was so fascinated by all the toys that she didn't even notice when I left. Now, she is mixed about school. She cries at drop-off, but I hear she has a good time once she settles in. She has learned some new songs from school, because she claps and sings around the house frequently.

Julia Says...

After picking out her mismatched pajamas (butterfly pajama top on flower pajama bottoms):

"I have butterflies on the top and flowers on the bottoms, because butterflies like to be on flowers."

~~~
"Fairies and princesses are even (more) beautiful than ballerinas. Ballerinas are just regular persons."
Haircuts
After looking at photos of the girls from our trip to Denver and realizing they were very shaggy, it was time for haircuts. Here are the finished products:
I was singing as Julia ate her dinner in the kitchen:
J: "I need it nice and quiet!"
Classic Annabelle
This picture really captures Annabelle's personality.
Julia Says....
"When I grow up, I want to be a princess mermenaid (mermaid)."
Driving Miss Daisy
There was a used bike sale in our neighborhood, and we scored a new-to-us bike with training wheels for Julia. We also got a little red Radio Flyer tricycle for Annabelle which is a bit too big for her now.
Julia's bike is pink with flowers on it. We have named it "Daisy," well, because it says "Daisy" on the side. She's comfortable riding it in the garage, and we've made one attempt at riding it in the park with mixed success.
She LOVES her "brand new bike."
Annabelle stats: 15 months
Weight: 22 lbs 10 oz (50th percentile)
Height: 32 in (95th percentile)
Head Circumference: 17 7/8 in
See Julia's 15 month stats.
Annabelle had a big time walking around the pediatricians' office and talking (babbling) to everyone. She really enjoys being out and about. The pediatrician said Annabelle looks great and very healthy. Her weight is up to the 50th percentile, so Dr. Griffiths was very happy with that.
She had two shots today: DTaP-Hib-Polio and MMR. For the first shot in her leg, she didn't even cry, but the second in her arm hurt. She cried for that one, but she got over it fairly quickly.
Annabelle is at such a fun age. She is INTO everything! (Well, sometimes that's not so fun.) She likes to open cabinets and pull things out. Books are her favorite right now, and she giggles as I make voices or the noises of the animals. She walks over to her bookcase and pulls out a book, saying "Book! Book!" She has also recently, unfortunately, learned to flush toilets, and she thinks that is great fun.
She's got a number of words:
"Uh-oh"
"Jakey"
"Papa"
"Mama"
"Judia" (Julia)
"siss" (sister)
"Nina" (Christina)
"Opa" (Opa and also open)
"More"
"Up"
"NO!"
"yes" (We don't hear that as often lately.)
"book"
"shu...shu" (shoe)
"Night, Night!"
"Hi!"
"Bye,Bye"
Annabelle likes to feed herself.
Annabelle enjoys feeding herself, but this often means she needs a bath right after her meal! In this case, she had Greek yogurt and fruit for breakfast.
