We had just been to the pediatrician the week before, as Annabelle had an ear infection. The doctor confirmed that Annabelle's ears were clear and looked "beautiful." The doctor was very happy with Annabelle's weight gain. She's right back on her growth curve where she's supposed to be.
Annabelle was a bit clingy to me during the appointment and did not take kindly to the doctor poking and prodding her. She especially did not like when the doctor laid her down to examine her. I remarked that Julia was very independent at this age and didn't mind others holding her. The doc said that it is very common for babies to be all about Mommy at this age.
The hard part, of course, was the shots. There were three immunizations today: Hep B, Prevnar (pneumococcal) and Varicella (chickenpox). She wailed when she got the two shots in her chubby little thighs and one in her arm. No fun. She was a little fussy all that day and the next.
