Dear V & B,
I hope you are having a good time in the mountains. I'm looking forward to your visit next weekend. I'd like to ask a favor: if you have any old tennis balls around and if it is not too much trouble, will you bring me some? We are running dangerously low, and we have had a couple of panicky moments when we haven't been able to find a single ball in the yard.
My whole family is excited that you are coming to visit.
Love,
Your Granddog, Jake

Oh Jake, Cisco feels your pain. Makes me wish we had some spares to send your way. Hope you get more tennis balls soon.
Jake,
We have an End of the Season Round Robin "tournament" this afternoon and the grandparents will ask the pro if he has any old tennisballs left there at the court. If so will bring them all to DC next week. So get ready for (hopefully) some fresh tennisballs by weeks end.
Opa & Oma
Dear Jake,
Just got back from the Round Robin and the party afterwards. Played better in the party than on the tenniscourts (at least what Opa is concerned; Oma can still beat anybody). But got you your tennisballs. All 10 of them or so. They are already in the trunk of the car, so that we, older as we are getting, do not forget.
Look forward to run with you next Saturday.

Jake is now day-dreaming about new, slobber-free tennis balls. Thank you!!
Jake: would you take old tennis balls from friends?
Your request is to family members, but I do have a couple of red tennis balls you might like...........
:)
Jake loves tennis balls, anyway he can get 'em! Thanks!!
